I am drawn to the interconnection between humans and trees. That perfect positioning of sunlight, coupled with their sturdy trunks and sinuous textures, morph this woody plant into an anthropomorphic statue. I feel they are actually posing, reaching out for my attention. Some exhibiting strength, others ballerina-esque, and many quite shockingly sensual.
Just as humans, no two are exactly the same. Like an Avedon model posing for the camera I strive to continually capture their desire to be acknowledged.
“I will never look at trees the same way again” is the reaction I get from many after taking in my images.
